Great Tricks for April Fools Day

It is that time of the year again for practical jokes to bring out the best in people. April 1 st is celebrated across the world as the official day to play tricks, pranks, jokes, hoaxes, etc. on any suspecting gullible person. I personally love April Fools Day. What better time then to just have some good clean fun designed to make people laugh. For those looking for a great prank this year, I have compiled a list of pranks that I have seen or experienced over the years that really rank in the top pranks lists.
This is probably one of the most creative pranks I have ever seen pulled off in an office setting. When the Left Behind series of books and movies were the hottest thing on the market, my mother in law's office decided to take advantage of the hype. Her boss was a huge fan and avid reader of the series. The office got together and decided that on April 1 st all of them would bring an entire extra outfit including clothes, earrings, shoes, etc to work. In the middle of the day, the entire crew snuck out very quietly without being noticed the back door. As the boss came out of his office, it was said he looked as pale as pale can be. He made the rounds with his heart pounding until they emerged to give him relief. It was a great joke that was executed to every detail with phones left off the hooks, coffee spilled on desks, etc. The great news is that the boss did laugh about it all.
Announcing A Pregnancy
Most women have tried to pull off this joke at some point in their life. However, one of my friends did one better. She actually had a pregnant friend pee on one of the home test kits in order to fool her husband. He fell for it hook, line and sinker turning as white as a sheet. The joke was actually on her, however, when two months later she found out she really was pregnant.
Dinnertime Fun
Last year, my kids and I decided to try and play a trick on old dad. I cooked a spaghetti dinner and set the table without any forks. My son had earlier taken all the forks and hid them in a different room of the house. We watched as my husband looked in the silverware drawer, then the dishwasher and then the sink looking for a fork to eat with. We sat with straight faces asking him what was wrong. The kids enjoyed being involved and it was pretty funny.
Gluing Money
An old trick, but one that is equally guaranteed to excite the kids is gluing a coin such as a quarter to the ground. It is great to watch as people come and try to pick up the coin.
Office Humor
Mess with the brightness/contrast of the person's computer screen so that it looks as if the monitor is not coming on when pushed on. It is funny to watch them turn everything on and off over and over again trying to get the screen to display.
The next one could really send someone over the edge. Take a screen shot of a co-workers desktop. Make the screenshot their wallpaper. Then make a folder on the desktop and put all of their desktop icons in that folder. When they go to click on an icon or a shortcut nothing will happen.
Another great office trick is a wonderful product from the guys at thinkgeek.com called the Annoy-a-Tron. It is a tiny component that emits and annoying sound at random times. It will drive your co-worker insane.
These are just a few pranks that tend to top the list of ultimate pranks. Feel free to add the pranks over the years that have stood out to you in the comments below. Enjoy April Fools Day!

nO,BECAUSE I DID NOT FIND ANY TRICKS TO BE USED
Great article, Abigail. I loved the one about the 'Left Behind'. I wish I had known about that one while I was still working. Nothing is more fun than playing a trick on your boss! SEG
In highschool, we had a teacher who hated peanut butter. So on April Fool's Day, we hid a huge glob of it in a margarine tub at the back of the top shelf of her lecturn. We could barely keep from laughing out loud while watching her occasionally sniff the air and look around. She never said anything and we all left at the end of the hour. We found out the next day that it took her almost all day to figure it out. On another AFD with a different teacher, he was called to the office for some reason and we all scrambled around and completely reversed the entire classroom. He was not amused! Oh well, we had a ball doing it.
it wasn't great maybe some easier ones
i once did the spray thing wit the nossle where u put a rubber band around it then point to where a person stands and then it sprays them. well my mom was not 2 happy about that. then later when she left 2 go pick my sister up from a freinds house i put vicks cream all over the toilet seat my mom walked in and said it smelled good. then she had 2 go 2 the bathroom and had a lot of trouble with that
