Al Gore Continues With Hypocrisy

Global awareness so-called revolutionist continues with a life disguised as one who cares for his environment, all the while living not how he preaches.
I have never been an Al Gore fan. Even when I was young, naïve and brainwashed into being a Clinton fan, I never felt a connection to Al Gore.
I have been amazed over the years since he left office, how popular he has become. He has rocked with stars promoting his green life style and global warming platform. Recently, people sat waiting for his endorsement of Obama. He has become an every day figure in the news. It is amazing to me. He isn’t that charismatic of a person. His cause is debatable with many scientist now saying there is no global warming taking place, yet he is still the person America seems to go to listen on how to live or “go green."
This year the news is no different. In fact, it is reported that the Gores have increased their electricity consumption by ten percent. Seriously?
The response from the Gore last year was that the family has taken steps to reduce their use. He stated his family "has taken numerous steps to reduce the carbon footprint of their private residence, including signing up for 100 percent green power ?, installing solar panels and using compact fluorescent bulbs and other energy-saving technology."
Yet a ten percent increase? Hmm-does that mean solar panels aren’t conserving energy? Or is it possible that despite these steps, Gore is actually using more than he is conserving?
Gore has created a money powerhouse. I think he is the biggest hypocrite in America. As long as he continues to promote this type of lifestyle that he himself does not live, he rakes in the cash.
FoxNews reports that he has made over $100 million since leaving public office in 2001. It certainly seems like a scam to me when the man supposedly promoting this lifestyle is banking that much money all the while modeling a lifestyle of luxury in his own mansion.
The worst part is that Gore views himself as some sort of revolutionary that is making the world a better place for the future and that those in the future will remember him as making all these sacrifices to ensure a better lifestyle.
Can you say full of himself? It all seems a little too fishy to me. You know if the environment and actions that we take our destroying the world, then yes, I think steps need to be taken. But for the person to take credit for making these changes to sit in his mansion raking in money and using way more energy than I ever did, it just hypocritical.
He is the one that should begin reducing and modeling what he preaches. I am sure he takes a jet to everyone of the functions that he rakes in money from as well. Get off the high horse, Gore, and start practicing what you preach!

Top-level comments on this article: (3 total)Hi Abigail. Very revealing article. I've never been a Gore fan and now I am appalled at his hypocrisy also. Seems that he is saying, "Do as I say so that I can continue to do as I want to do." Bad boy! Good writing too, by the way. Spell check missed a couple of context errors, though. Like "our" instead of "are." One Warpie very early on suggested to me that I read my articles out loud to myself. It slows you down and makes it easier to spot the errors. But good work, none the less. Dianne
Sorta like "do as I say and not as I do..." mmmm.... I wouldn't even have to know this information not to buy into Mr. Gore -- It's all very interesting how these people work on people's vulnerbility and score big - On a different level, it reminds me of years ago sitting behind Captain Kangaroo in a diner -- My friends and I were all appalled at how Captain Kangaroo shared with his friends how he hated little kids and would never do what he was if not for the money... How many kids in my generation grew up loving Captain Kangaroo?... There is always an agenda with many, many people - Good article, Abigail!
Abigail, You are right on! It is refreshing for an older person to see younger people see right through a person like Gore. Did you know that when he speaks anywhere, he usually permits no press or questions after his speaking is done?
What an imposter!
