Christian Alternative to Twitter?

I have to admit now I have seen everything. A group has released a new "Christian Alternative to Twitter" called Christian Chirp.

The site can be found at http://www.christianchirp.com

"Christian Chirp is a community of Christians, be they friends or strangers to each other, they remain updated through the sending of messages about what they are doing or feeling at certain times in their lives," the site states. "Finally, all are responding to a main question: What am I doing now?"

And they wonder why non-Christians have such a view of Christians! We are already viewed as cliquish, stuck up, judgmental, etc. Is this site not adding more fuel to the fire?

I think Christians encouraging one another and learning together is essential. In fact, the Bible is clear that is essential for Christian growth. Why hide away this with a site deemed only for Christians.

The only way to win people to Christ is to model Christ's perfect love. Is a site that is hiding away from the norm that millions of others are taking part in really showing that love?

Could they not have formed a group on Facebook? I guess I don't see the purpose in giving society more ammo against Christians. NO where does it state to segregate yourself from the rest of the world. Doing so only damages the work of the kingdom.

Maybe I am getting riled up for nothing. I have that tendency. What do you think? Is there a purpose for a site that caters exclusively to Christians telling what they are doing? Why not show the world what a Godly life is on the real Twitter?

Let me know your thoughts in the comments.

I so agree with you. Jesus engaged with people of all walks. I tried to get on this exclusive web site for chrstians once and could not (even though I am a Christian)..I could write books about this subject. Good article.

Who says this has to replace twitter? I agree that we should be open about our faith and not hide it. Why shouldn't Christians have a place to go where they have faith in common and can build each other up, pray for each other etc. Why does that make you so mad?? Nobody said you can't do both.
