Def Leppard To Make Cartoon-This Could Get Interesting

I have to admit. I was a Def Leppard fan. I remember sitting in the cafeteria with my girlfriends in sixth grade singing "Pour Some Sugar On Me" at the top of our lungs.

Therefore when I saw the latest headlines about Def Leppard getting their own cartoon, I was a little ecstatic much like that old teenage girl was back in sixth grade.

I miss old cartoons that had celebrities. My favorite was Prostars-not sure if anybody remembers that one. It had Bo Jackson, Michael Jordan and Wayne Gretzky. KISS also had a famous cartoon that kids did not want to miss.

Who else doesn't miss Hulk Hogan's Rock ‘n' Wrestling? An interesting fact about that cartoon is that Hulk Hogan wasn't even Hulk Hogan. Brad Garrett actually did the voice for Hulk Hogan.

Def Leppard has signed with Primary Wave, a music publishing company. The company plans to develop a cartoon, video games and more. They have not pitched the cartoon to any networks yet, but the internet is already a buzz with excitement about the possibility.

The band continues to delight old rockers and I am sure the cartoon will be a hit if done right. I can imagine all of the possibilities with the first episode if it is self titled Hysteria! How fun would that be?

Seriously, cartoons with celebrities show them in a more real light. It allows fans to get acquainted with the performer in a way that shows their humor and personality. Remember all those Scooby Dos with the Harlem Globetrotters and endless celebrities? I think it showed the public that they are real people who like to have fun as well. It also moved some careers to a higher level.

These days cartoons are so set on educating, some of the fun is lost sometimes. Bring back the celebrities. Bring back the fun! Bring back Def Leppard!
